Setting the Atmosphere

Adult Halloween parties succeed or fail on atmosphere. Dim all overhead lighting and rely on candles, string lights, and colored bulbs. Cover windows with black fabric. Play ambient soundscapes at low volume throughout the space.

Themed Cocktail Bar

Create 4-5 signature cocktails with thematic names:

Witch Brew: Green Chartreuse, gin, and lime juice with dry ice for fog effect
Vampire Kiss: Pomegranate juice, vodka, and champagne with a sugar-rimmed glass
Ghostly Elixir: Lychee liqueur, coconut cream, and white rum with a floating lychee
Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned: Bourbon, pumpkin spice syrup, and orange bitters

Activities Beyond Costume Contests

Host a murder mystery dinner with assigned characters. Set up horror movie trivia with prizes. Create a scary story corner where guests share frightening personal experiences in a candlelit room.

Food That Scares and Delights

Deviled eggs decorated like eyeballs, a charcuterie board arranged as a skeleton, dark chocolate cupcakes with spider web icing, and a punch bowl with floating plastic spiders (removable before serving).
