Office Holiday Parties in 2026

The modern office holiday party balances fun with professionalism, includes diverse cultural celebrations, and creates genuine team bonding. Here are ideas that work.

Activity Ideas

Ugly Sweater Contest — Classic but always fun. Add categories: ugliest, most creative, best DIY. Prize: $25 gift card.
Secret Santa with a Twist — $10 limit, but gifts must be handmade or thrifted. More meaningful than expensive buys.
Holiday Trivia — Mix holiday facts from multiple cultures. Teams of 4–6. Winner gets a half-day off.
Cookie Exchange — Each person brings 2 dozen homemade cookies, takes home 2 dozen assorted.
Volunteer Together — Spend the party time at a food bank or toy drive. Builds team spirit through shared purpose.

Food & Drink

Hot chocolate bar with toppings (marshmallows, peppermint, whipped cream).
Grazing table with holiday cheeses, charcuterie, and seasonal fruits.
Mulled wine or cider (can be made in a slow cooker).
Diverse holiday desserts: latkes, panettone, buche de Noel, fruitcake.

Inclusivity Tips

Label the event 'Holiday Party' instead of 'Christmas Party.' Include decorations and foods from multiple traditions. Offer non-alcoholic drink options prominently. Respect that not everyone celebrates — make attendance optional and fun.
